Pub In The Hub is offering grants of up to £3,000 specifically designed to support rural pub owners, licensees, and local communities to work together to help support and sustain local services in Wales, England and Scotland.
It’s well known that isolation and loneliness are prevalent in rural areas where transport, services and amenities are limited, and this has been exacerbated by the restrictions arising from the pandemic. And it affects all generations, young as well as old.
Pub is the Hub’s Community Services Fund aims to help projects which support the needs of local communities by using pubs to do the following:
- offer a new service:
- replace a lost service such as a local shop, library, post office or community centre
- encouraging the local sourcing of products
- providing school meals
- providing IT training
- offer a base for church services.
Note that these grants do not cover building work, planning and legal costs or provision of disabled access.
