Introducing Nood Food

Sustainability can be overwhelming. Where to start? How to make it affordable? What changes can I make to be more environmentally friendly?

Nood Food is a zero-waste shop on Llanfairfechan High Street run by Kirsty. This shop reduces plastic, food miles and processed foods by buying in bulk and sourcing from local suppliers. This shop aims to support the local community in starting or continuing their sustainability journey by making it hassle-free and affordable

Their products include fresh fruits and veg, grains and pastas, herbs and spices. Each morning, you can follow your nose to the fresh cakes and breads that are delivered from local bakeries, Becws Môn and Tan Lan.

Nood Food knows that not everyone is shopping for a family of four, so in this shop you are able to buy what you need – a single carrot or weighed out granola. Using a refill system, you can select from a wall of colourful jars to replenish your cupboards whilst also buying exactly what is needed for you. You can bring your own empty jam jars or select from a basket of donated, free jars in-store.

Kirsty believes that one of the best sustainable changes you can make is to something you consistently buy, so not only do Nood Food stock produce, but also a range of eco-friendly soaps, detergents, and even toilet rolls!

Whether you’re making a small change like using a soap bar, popping in for your daily sweet treat, you are always met with a friendly face. Aimed to be there for the local community and local businesses like Hilltop Garden Flowers, who supply beautiful, bright bouquets of seasonal, locally grown flowers. Nood Food supports local sustainability projects – providing a free litter picker for those on an afternoon stroll to the beach – and also takes requests for products.
